Christmas in Madrid

We are in Madrid Spain for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and will be leaving for Valencia on Saturday.

The Museo del Prado, established in 1819, is the Spanish national art museum and features one of the world's finest collections of European art.

Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid was established by Carlos III in 1781. Not too colorful this time of year, but a very nice long walk.

San Jerónimo el Real de Madrid is a Roman Catholic church established in the early 16th century.

Plaza de Neptuno, where the Prado and Botanical Gardens are located, features an ornate fountain centerpiece, the 18th-century sculpture of Neptune, the sea god, by Juan Pascual de Mena.
